5 Things To Do In Los Angeles With Kids This Weekend

This weekend, get out and get moving! There’s plenty to do whether you want to head out to the beach, downtown L.A., Pasadena, or a spot in between.

29[t]h Annual Richstone Pier-to-Pier Walkathon
Manhattan Beach Pier, Manhattan Beach, CA

Head to Manhattan Beach on Saturday, April 30th for the 29th Annual Richstone Pier-to-Pier Walkathon. Walkers will begin at Manhattan Beach Pier walk to Hermosa Beach Pier and then return to Manhattan Bach. All proceeds from the walk will benefit the Richstone Family Center, in honor of April being recognized as National Child Abuse Awareness Month. Walkers will enjoy live music, food and beverage vendors, and fitness trunk shows. The walkathon is being hosted by Alex Curry of Fox Sports. Registration closes at midnight on Friday, April 29th.

Butterflies at Westfield Santa Anita

Through Sunday, May 1st, families will have the chance to “watch a miracle” at the Westfield Santa Anita. Families can experience an interactive butterfly house, observe live butterflies, learn about a butterfly’s life cycle, participate in a craft activity, and more. Tickets are available online ($6 for adults at the door, $5 for adults online, $5 for children, children 2 and under are free with paid adult admission).

Kidspace Children’s Museum

Join Kidspace Children’s Museum this weekend (10:00 am to 5:00 pm) for their grand opening celebration of Arroyo Adventure. The exhibit will feature 8 new interactive experiences within the Kidspace Gardens that allow children the opportunity to make connections between nature and play. Children will be able to make forts, create with clay, and much more. (Admission is $11 for adults and children).

A Month of Big Sundays

Big Sunday, a day of community service, began back in 1999. This year, families can help with “A Month of Big Sundays.” Throughout the month of May, families will have the opportunity to help out every day. Check the website to find a project that interests your family, sign up, and then get to work knowing that your efforts make a big difference!

YMCA Healthy Kids Day
Grand Park

Bring the family to Grand Park on Saturday, April 30th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for YMCA Healthy Kids Day. At this special event, families can participate in games and activities, enjoy healthy snacks, and much more.
