On May 1st and 2nd, Big Sunday, the largest region-wide community service volunteer weekend in the USA, took place In Southern California. Over 50,000 volunteers from a range of backgrounds gathered to participate in a number of community service efforts. Following the mantra that everyone can make a difference, regardless of your age, ethnicity, or gender, Big Sunday encourages the participation of all walks of life. Big Sunday exploded from the 300 volunteer brainchild of Hollywood writer David Levinson to the massive charitable movement that spans Southern California each year. Of this year’s event, Levinson says, “These days, there are a lot of people working hard to divide people. I love doing Big Sunday because what we’re about, more than anything else, is bringing people together.” Check out the photographs from this year’s big event.
