Love is in the air!
Then again, so is COVID-19. Happily, for the second year, we’re turning our Valentine’s Day into a week-long opportunity to spread the love.
Please check out our schedule below and help us spread the love!
In-Person: Join us at our fun and friendly Valentine-Making Party & Community Breakfast! It will be on Saturday, Feb. 12, 10-12 – 100% outdoors – at our headquarters on Melrose. We’ll be making Valentines, creating goodie bags, and enjoying one another’s company. Of course, there will great snacks and good vibes. Plus, we’ll be sampling the Worst. Love Songs. Ever. (See below.) All ages welcome. Groups too. All outside. Everyone 5 & up must be vaccinated (please bring proof) and will be asked to wear a mask.
At home: You can make Valentines at home, too! We’ll have downloadable cards, a template, and a bunch of other suggestions to make the cards nice. We could use cards from kind-hearted people of all ages. You can drop off the cards to Big Sunday anytime during the week of Feb 7th, M-F, 9-5, or on Saturday the 12th between 10 am and 1 pm.
Valentine’s Delivery Drivers: We need folks to deliver all those great Valentines! You can also sign up to deliver cards or gift bags to hospitals, shelters, group homes and other places folks could use a lift on Valentine’s Day (Monday, February 14). Sign up, and we’ll send you all the details. (Many places have restrictions in place about visitors during COVID, so this more about driving than visiting. Still, it’s much-needed!)
“The Food I Love Most” Drive: Share your favorite food! As always, we’ll be feeding grateful and hungry people. Go to your local market, pick out your personal favorite items (yes, they must be non-perishable; no, they don’t have to be healthy)(hey, it’s Valentine’s Day!) and bring them to our office on Melrose. (M-F, 9-5, or on 2/12, 9-noon)
Raffle Contest: Enter our “Worst. Love Song. Ever. Contest.”You can enter on our Facebook and Instagram pages by sharing your least favorite love song of all time. You can also enter at our Valentine’s Day party. On Monday, February 14 we’ll take all the entries and pick one out of a hat. Not only will we send that person a box of See’s Candies – but we will make a $100 donation to whatever non-profit they love.
