In these divisive times, we’re especially looking forward to MLK Day on January 15, 2024.
We can’t think of a better occasion for people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs to be working together for a common cause.
We like to think it’s what Dr. King worked so hard for.

Everything will be outside and all ages are welcome!

HERE'S WHAT WE ARE DOING!

Like always, it will be a big, wonderful block party with lots of ways for people of all ages to help.

We’re only accepting NEW clothes. We’ll be putting together a full 2,024 (!) winter clothing kits for all kinds of nice folks who are struggling.

  1. Lots of fun arts & craft projects to benefit local nonprofits
  2. Our growing Civil Rights Exhibit
  3. Our popular Big Sunday’s Something in Common Project
  4. Our crowd-pleasing Big Sun Day mosaic art project
  5. Awesome entertainment from the Blue Breeze Band
  6. And of course, we’ll also all be enjoying a big and delicious community breakfast together

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED!

Our goal is to distribute 2,024 bagfuls of clothing and another 2,024 pieces of underwear. We can definitely use your help!

  1. Volunteer in person to help pack all the cold-weather clothing kits for our nonprofit recipients.
  2. Be an Event Sponsor and keep this event free for everyone. Sponsorships start at $500 and go to $10,000.
  3. Sponsor a Bag for $25 apiece. Each bag contains a brand-new sweatshirt, t-shirt, hat, scarf, gloves and socks.
  4. Shop our Registry – the easiest gig in town to purchase clothing and new underwear.
  5. Lead a new Clothing Collection and drop off donations to our offices.
  6. Make Cards at home to go with these warm clothing gifts.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is,
‘”What are you doing for others?”‘
