Thanks so much for helping with our annual 10K in May collection.
As you may know, many of our friends and neighbors are concerned about not having enough food to eat. In fact, USC’s Dornsife Public Exchange reveals that up to 1 in 4 individuals in L.A. County faces food insecurity. That’s over 2 million people! That includes working families, college students, veterans and seniors.
Big Sunday is proud to once again host our annual 10K in May food collection, aiming to distribute at least 10,000 cans, boxes, or bags of food. It’s an ambitious target, but the challenge of food insecurity is significant. And yes, of course we could use your help. We need volunteers, collectors and donors (of both food or cash so we can do the shopping for you).
One other thing: If you hadn’t heard we now have a new food pantry and a weekly food giveaway every Friday. We call it Food Fridays, and it’s already a big hit. Both will be going strong throughout May, and will culminate in our biggest Friday ever: the 10K in May food sorting and distribution on Friday, May 29.
We hope you can be part of this month of loads of food and lots of love.
