10K in May

Today, many of our friends and neighbors are concerned about not having enough food to eat.

Recent research from USC’s Dornsife Public Exchange reveals that up to 1 in 4 individuals in L.A. County faces food insecurity – totaling 2.5 million people. Recent reductions in food stamp benefits are exacerbating this issue rapidly. More and more members of our communities, including working families and college students, are relying on food pantries to avoid hunger each month. This places added strain on food pantries to meet the demand for assistance.

To address this growing need, Big Sunday is proud to host our annual 10K in May food collection, aiming to distribute at least 10,000 cans, boxes, or bags of food. It’s an ambitious target, but the challenge of food insecurity is significant. We believe our Big Sunday community can make a difference!
