3 Very Special Ways You Can Help Vets

At Big Sunday, we’re always especially happy to help out and hang out with vets. This fall we’ve gotten a few special requests from three different organizations that work with vets, asking for three different things that would make the lives of these brave men and women and their kids happier and easier. We are happy and honored that each organization knows that they can reach out to Big Sunday and that we’ll come through. Here are the requests:
  • New workout machines to help with mind and body for formerly homeless vets in Long Beach. (We need to raise $9000 altogether.) Amazing news: We quickly raised the money we need, and the new gym equipment is on its way! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed.
  • 50 new bikes (and helmets!) for vets and their kids for the holidays. (An annual tradition. This year, each bike and helmet combo costs $150, which includes assembly.) Great news: We have already raised enough to cover 26 of the 50 bikes we are buying. Thanks so much for that, too!
  • 180 welcome baskets full of linens for formerly homeless vets being moved into permanent housing at the VA in LA. ($100 each) Once we reach our goal with the bikes, we’ll move on to the linens. Our goal is to raise it all by December 2!
If you can help with any of this, that would be wonderful.  Please CLICK HERE to donate and specify “Vets” in the form.
